Oro Fine Art Gallery Presents Benefit Exhibition for Hospital Art for Kids
Ricardo Chávez-Méndez announces an exhibition to benefit Hospital Art for Kids. The exhibition will run from March 21-April 21, 2006 at the Oro Fine Art Gallery, 20 First Plaza, Galeria, Suite 73, Lower Level, two blocks north of Central Avenue at 201 2nd St. NW, Albuquerque
A reception will be held on March 24, 5 - 9:PM . The catered event will feature NMSO members performing.
Ricardo will exhibit for the first time his stunning work, "Equinoctial Rose".
Additionally, Richard Stocker, Founder of Hospital Art for Kids will show a large number of his works plus art from the children.
A special poster of Equinoctial Rose has been made for sale at this event; all proceeds will go to the non-profit organization, Hospital Arts for Kids. Likewise, all sales of Richard Stocker's work will benefit HAFK. Shelton Jewelers of Albuquerque have made a donation for the event, with a silent auction to be held for the item.
Following the death of his ten-year-old son, Santi, Richard Stocker founded hospital Art for Kids two years ago. Richard, a life-long artist and photographer, spent many hours in the hospital with his son during his illness. He discovered that coloring brought many therapeutic benefits to his ailing son. Richard then began making coloring books with his unique designs for other children in the hospital. He has since provided hundreds of his designs and distributed them to hospitals and clinics throughout Albuquerque. Doctors, health-care workers and the children themselves have written numerous testimonials about the benefits of this program.
The 501 C3 non-profit organization wants to further its efforts by distributing coloring books and crayons to children in hospitals throughout the state and ultimately to as many states as funding will allow. More details of the event and the organization can be found at www.hafk.org.

Ricardo and Richard's art is definitely worth seeing and Hospital Art for Kids is a cause worthy of everybody's support.
