Mountainair hosts village-wide Arts Tour<br>

Mountainair, New Mexico – Excitement is mounting in and around the tiny hamlet of Mountainair as the 3rd annual Mountainair Arts Tour nears. The tour is one day only – Saturday, June 9, from 10 am to 6 pm. Go early so you have lots of time because there’s lots to see and do.<br><br>Those who frequent Mountainair know they’ll find high-quality art and amazingly affordable prices. Fine art is available for viewing and purchase at Cibola Arts Gallery, where its member artists will be showing. Studios open include Arts Tour 2007 coordinator Celeste Simon’s studio, The Wayward Elf, Art, Etc., a painting group; and Montgomery Designs.<br><br>The Dr. Saul Community Center will be filled with booths of artists and crafters.There’ll be food available as well. Art at the center will range from Native American jewelry, and oil and waterpaintings to painted gourds, knives, goats soap and honey.<br><br>Two tours of historic Rancho Bonito will be offered this year. Led by historian Dorothy Cole, the tours are at 11 am and 2 pm.<br><br>Be sure to stop in the new grocery store, the B Street Market will be celebrating its Grand Opening.<br><br>Dixie Boyle, local author - ranger & teacher too - will be signing Between Land & Sky at the Dr Saul Center. Another local author will also be signing her recently published children’s book, Smokey Bear’s True Story, at the Community Center.<br><br>More books... step across the street to the Mountainair Community Library and stock up at the book sale.<br><br>Meanwhile, bands have been lined up to keep visitors and participants entertained throughout the day.

1 pm Eileen Baranik & Charles Wilson — light jazz, Latin instrumentals
2 pm Bob Morales — guitar & vocals
3 pm The Manzano Mountain String Band — bluegrass
