<img src=http://sonewmex.com/banners/Belen_Art_at_the_Heart0607_vert.jpg align=right border=1 hspace=3>Belen, New Mexico - June 1 – Now that the new Heart of Belen is finished and the renovation project completed, the art at the Heart of Belen is beating strong. The Belen Art League Gallery, 509 Becker Ave., (864-0217) is more easily accessible and there’s tons more parking space. The member artists are constantly rearranging their exhibits so stop by and view all their new works.<br><br>The Art League plans a busy summer with their own version of sidewalk sales the first Saturdays of each month. Then, relax with them at Anna Becker Park on the third Sundays of each month when the Belen Art League sponsors Music in the Park.<br><br>Be sure to visit the Historic Harvey House Museum which is featuring a solo art exhibit for Art League member Eizo Nishiura during the month of June. You must see Eizos works to fully appreciate them. (See separate story.)<br><br>Remember the sidewalk sales which will be held at the Belen Art League Gallery at 509 Becker on June 2, July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 8 from 10 am to 4 pm.<br><br>The summer music line-up for the Music in the Park performances - which are scheduled for each 3rd Sunday at 6:30 pm at Anna Becker Park on Reinken Ave. - includes:.<br><br>June 17: Debbie Gutierrez, guitarist and songwriter will perform at the opening Sunday concert. Debbie also writes children’s books and she’ll have books and CDs available at the park.<br><br>July 15: “Ten Cats Laughing” Ten Cats Laughing, Americana and rootsy The Los Lunas duo sings original tunes and covers about the cosmic twists, turns, tricks, and jokes inflicted on the folks who live in their songs.<br><br>Aug. 19: Magdalena Steel Chicks<br><br>Sept. 16: Rio Grande Valley Community Band led by Joe ArvisoFor more information on these events or the Belen Art League, call 505-864-0217.
