New Mexico WOMAN Seeks Nominations for
2006 Young Women of Promise Awards

For the seventh consecutive year, the October issue of New Mexico Woman will be dedicated to “Young Women of Promise”—young women in their teens who demonstrate qualities of leadership and deserve recognition for their abilities and achievements. We are now contacting schools, media, and youth organizations throughout the state asking for nominations.

If you know an outstanding young woman age 13-19 who is making a difference in her school or community, we urge you to nominate her. Tell us about her activities and accomplishments. The ten most promising “New Mexico Young Women of Promise will be chosen from nominees by representatives from Intel and New Mexico WOMAN, sponsors of the event.
In addition to being featured in the upcoming October 2006 issue of the magazine, winners will be honored at a special luncheon on September 30 during which the awards will be presented.
The mission of New Mexico WOMAN is to support women and honor those who are making a difference in the world. It seems only fitting that we find and recognize the women of tomorrow as well. We are proud to have this opportunity to recognize and salute the 2006 Young Women of Promise with this award.
